Linux AD Integration is a service that integrates your Linux systems into your on-premise Active Directory (”AD”) or Azure Active Directory (”AAD”).
Delivery includes direct integration of up to fifty (50) Linux systems into on-premise Active Directory or Azure Active Directory. The features provided by the Linux AD/AAD integration are subject to limitations of the Linux software responsible for the integration.
What is excluded from the delivery:
Configuration of AD/AAD (e.g. creation of LDAP proxy accounts)
Support services after the initial setup
In AAD integration some advanced features like using GPOs for Linux host access control may be unavailable
Mixed Linux / Windows environments seems to be a norm nowadays. Managing a large fleet of Windows computers without Active Directory is challenging, which means it's present in many organizations already. Using Active Directory to centralize authentication and authorization of Linux systems therefore makes a lot of sense. That said, very few people really want to do such integration work themselves, especially if there Linux systems are not under a configuration management system like Ansible or Puppet. This is where this service comes in - to outsource this boring and risky integration process to our automation experts.
This service makes most sense for people who lots of Linux and Windows systems, or have only a handful of Linux systems but strict policies centralized management.
